Restaurant Review for La Garrigue

La Garrigue is a French restaurant, specialising in food of the Languedoc region (South East). The chef is Jean-Michel Gauffre who, after captaining all food and beverages at the Sheraton Grande in Edinburgh, started his own restaurant and has gone from strength to strength since. The food is hearty, rustic and flavoursome. Jean-Michel's passion and skill show through in the quality of the food, which is available for both lunch and dinner. Lunch is reasonably priced at £9.50 for a main, or £13.50 for two courses. Dinner (for which I'd try and book ahead) starts at £23.50 for two courses. The restaurant is just off the Royal Mile. Walk down past the North Bridge junction, towards the next large junction which is Royal Mile/Jeffrey St/St. Mary's St. Take the left onto Jeffrey Street and walk around. La Garrigue is on the left.
